Disney is remaking all of its classics into live-action.

That's no secret.

Aladdin is scheduled to be released on May 24, 2019 in North America, and it's already sparking the nostalgia-bomb.

So when some fans were going through and watching the whole Aladdin series of animated films, they noticed something interesting...

Aladdin and the King of Thieves, the third film in the series, features Aladdin fighting off the legendary 40 thieves, from the Ali Baba and the Forty Thievesmythos (added to the collection One Thousand Nights And One Night by Antoine Galland in the 18th century, who also added the original Aladdin story, Alœddin And The Magic Lamp to the collection.)

This song sounds exactly like "Friend Like Me," doesn't it?

But according to Reddit user u/Phyrandria, the way the movie progresses is dictated by a wish Aladdin made in the first film: to be a Prince, in order to impress Jasmine.

As the son of a king, Aladdin technically would become the prince of thieves.

And his dad is, in fact, the king.

However, the plot of the film takes a turn after that seems to be borne out of a toxic culture in the 90s.

That theme, is, of course, "family is everything."

This theme runs deeply in Aladdin's history, with Howard Ashman composing the deeply longing and semi-autobiographical "Proud Of Your Boy," in which Aladdin sings to his mother that though she doesn't accept who he is, he'll make her proud.

Ouch, right in the feels.

But still, this is a narrative we are working to change in current days.

Genie has a line to Aladdin in this movie:

"I know your dad made a lot of bad choices, but that doesn't mean that you have to."

But then if Genie cast the spell that made Aladdin's dad the king of thieves, then like...didn't Genie make the bad decisions for him?

Can a human be blamed for the magic of a Jinn? Why is this such a complicated moral question????

Trump Adviser's Chess Analogy After Trump's Meeting With Canadian Prime Minister Is Epic Self-Own

President Donald Trump's adviser Stephen Miller was mocked online after he used a chess reference to heap praise onto Trump after his Oval office meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

People In Long-Term Relationships Explain What Love Feels Like To Them Now

While some people wax nostalgic about the "good old days" when everyone stayed married, the reality is that there were almost no options for divorced women. There were very few for widows either.

Longevity in relationships was more about necessity and no other choices than devotion. Now that divorce is easily accessible, longterm relationships are more likely to be a choice.
