A conspiracy theorist was convinced she caught a glitch in 'the matrix' after she saw a lifeguard at Nashville Shores Waterpark in Tennessee making unusual movements—but it turned out it's actually a safety technique called 'Ellis scanning.'

A video on TikTok showing a woman accusing a lifeguard of being AI has gone wildly viral, but viewers are calling out the poster.

The woman was absolutely convinced that the waterpark lifeguard was a robot after she saw her making unusual movements with her head.

The conspiracy theorist began:

“What you think you see ain’t really real cause they here watching this robot…This a whole f*cking robot that's supposed to be a lifeguard!"
“Look at this."

The lifeguard, continuing with the mechanical motions, addressed the woman filming:

“Ma’am, are you okay?”

The woman responded:

“Yeah, I’m okay, are you okay?”

She then accused the lifeguard of being "not real."

“Okay, no, you are not real. No, ma’am, you are not real."
"You are not real, ma’am, you are The Matrix.

But viewers of the video quickly put the creator in her place, claiming the lifeguard was doing her job—and doing it well—using a safety technique called "Ellis scanning."

Ellis scanning is a surveillance technique that requires constant and systematic movement of the head to ensure proper and adequate supervision of the entire area.

And people on social media applauded the lifeguard for taking her job seriously.
