It’s a tale as old as time—a famous actor is mistaken for a completely different famous actor.

However, when the actor in question is Ryan Reynolds, you have to wonder how close the person making the mistake was looking at him. It had to be often, because according to Reynolds himself, it’s been happening for years and he’s yet to make a correction.

The actor explained the situation during his appearance on the Dear Hank & John Podcast, hosted by the famous Green brothers. There, the Deadpool actor explained that a pizza place in the East Village of New York City believes he’s Ben Affleck.

And he hasn’t had the heart to tell them otherwise.

Reynolds said:

“I do everything normal like everybody else. They just think I'm Ben Affleck and they'll ask how J.Lo is and I'm like, ‘great, good.’ I get the pizza and off I go.”

Which seems fine enough, but the actor might not be so good about masking his emotions.

“When I leave, I think they’re like, ‘I don’t think Ben Affleck is amused by us. I gotta be more chipper. I gotta take care of Ben.’”

That’s not the only other fellow celebrity Reynolds is mistaken for. He revealed he’s been mistaken for Ryan Gosling, a mistake podcast host Hank Green made in the episode itself.

However, Reynolds conceded that he couldn’t have made The Notebook.

And to be fair, Ben Affleck probably couldn’t have made Deadpool.

Though the Affleck and Reynolds connection leads to an interesting prospect for comic book movie nerds

Ryan Reynolds has announced a short hiatus from acting, until the start of filing for Deadpool 3. He’s said he wants to spend more time with his children.

President Donald Trump sparked criticism after claiming during an interview with ABC News’ Terry Moran that an edited photo depicting tattoos of wrongly-deported Maryland father Kilmar Abrego Garcia showed that he has an alleged connection to the MS-13 gang.

Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national who arrived in the U.S. in 2012, was labeled a threat in 2019 due to an alleged connection to MS-13. He spent months in detention before an immigration judge found he had a credible fear of persecution—not from MS-13, but from a rival group, Barrio 18, which he said had been extorting his family.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt lashed out at Amazon over news that the commerce giant planned to display increased "import charges" on items on their Amazon Haul website, essentially showing to customers the extra money they'd have to shell out as a result of President Donald Trump's tariffs.

Trump has escalated a growing trade war by imposing tariffs of up to 145% on Chinese imports, prompting China to retaliate with its own 125% tariffs on American goods. Additionally, the U.S. has slapped a 10% tax on imports from most other countries, while temporarily suspending higher rates for several nations for 90 days.
