The 'Thor' star detailed how a text chain involving the 'Avengers' costars quickly devolved into mockery over the 'Captain America' star's cover of 'People' magazine.

Being named "Sexiest Man Alive" like Chris Evans was last week may not exactly be relatable to most of us, but being mercilessly roasted by our best friends certainly is, and in that regard Chris Evans is just like the rest of us.

Evans' fellow Marvel star Chris Hemsworth told Jimmy Kimmel Monday that Evans' big announcement as People magazine's "Sexist Man Alive" for 2022 lit up the text chain that all of the stars of Avengers have together.

But it was not to congratulate the man who plays Captain America on his new superlative.

Rather, it was to dunk on him for his People cover pose, like any true friend would.

See the clip below.

For his big People moment, the magazine ran a cover photo of Evans leaning up against a wall, with his hands behind his back.

And according to Hemsworth, he and fellow Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr. and Jeremy Renner couldn't stop laughing about the photo of their friend.

Hemsworth told Kimmel:

"We have an Avengers text chain, and it very quickly was like, 'What are you doing with your hands back there?'"
"It was like, [Robert] Downey [Jr.] said he was being arrested, I said it was a beautiful mugshot, and Jeremy Renner said a series of things which we won't repeat. ... Filthy."

When your friend is named the hottest person on the planet, you gotta keep him humble somehow. Hemsworth should know, having been named "Sexiest Man Alive" himself in 2014.

Evans seemed to anticipate the dunks in his interview with People for the "Sexiest Man Alive" issue.

He joked to the magazine:

"Really this will just be a point of bullying. It's ripe for harassment."

On Twitter, fans were delighted by all the roasting.

Hemsworth also told Kimmel that despite the ribbing, he considers Evans' new title a "passing of the torch" and that he is proud of his friend. Aww.

Ellen DeGeneres Just Tried To Mow The Lawn At Her Sprawling UK Estate—And It Went South Fast

Say what you may about Ellen DeGeneres, but we can all agree that she's always tried to find the funny side in a situation, even if it's something that should be as mundane as mowing the lawn.

DeGeneres left the talk show scene in 2022 after allegations ran rampant about her running a toxic workplace, so when President Donald Trump was elected for a second term, it seemed the perfect time for the entertainer and her wife, Portia de Rossi, to look for greener pastures, namely in the U.K.

Musk Ripped After Explaining Why He's So Adamant About Colonizing Mars Right Now

Billionaire Elon Musk was widely mocked after explaining to Fox News personality Jesse Watters that he's set on colonizing Mars to ensure that human life continues once Earth is destroyed by the Sun—which is odd, because that eventually is billions of years away.

The Sun, our life-sustaining star, is essentially a massive nuclear reactor, continuously converting hydrogen into helium through fusion and radiating energy outward. But like all stars, it has a finite lifespan. Scientists estimate that the Sun will exhaust its core hydrogen supply in about five billion years, marking the beginning of the end of its stable life.
