Disney Removes Awkwardly Suggestive 'Dripping' Mickey And Minnie Souvenir Ears After Fan Mockery

Disney has been forced to remove a set of Mickey and Minnie Mouse souvenir ears when their design had the internet making all kinds of family-unfriendly jokes that were definitely not Disney material.

The ears were a special edition souvenir to celebrate Disney's 100th anniversary at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California.

Accordingly, the ears were made to look like they were dripping with melted platinum, but people couldn't help but notice they looked an awful lot like they were dripping with... well, something else. Just look below and see for yourself.

Brings new meaning to the term "Disney adult," doesn't it?

Naturally, the online snickering was immediate—so much so that Disney ended up pulling the ears from its D23 merch site entirely. Which was probably the right move, because the ears' description on the D23 merch site certainly wasn't helping matters.

Basically, Disney chose the worst possible wording. The merch listing read:

"Minnie is dripping with excitement as she celebrates the centenary of The Walt Disney Company in her typically fashionable style with this ear headband."
"Part of the Disney 100 Platinum Celebration, this limited release commemorative ear headband has been designed by Disney artists for a special platinum-dipped effect and includes a coordinating padded bow, all presented in a special keepsake box."

"Dripping with excitement"? "Release"? They really should've run this stuff by quality control!

Disney attempted to salvage the ears by rewriting their description. The new version read:

"Celebrate the centenary of The Walt Disney Company with this Minnie Mouse ear headband."
"Part of the Disney 100 Platinum Celebration, this limited release commemorative ear headband has been designed by Disney artists for a special reflective platinum-dipped effect and includes a coordinating padded bow, all presented in a special keepsake box."

But that did nothing to quell the wave of online mockery, of course, and the jokes have been rolling in nonstop.

Anyway, if you are also "dripping with excitement" and these ears are the only "release" that will do, you can get them for thousands of dollars on eBay. Get 'em while you can!

One early headline, "100 Days Of Hoaxes: Cutting Through The Fake News," was notable but did not include a direct link to a story.
