Senator Who Lost Her Legs in Iraq Perfectly Shames Tucker Carlson After He Suggests She 'Hates America'

In 2004, then-Lieutenant Colonel Tammy Duckworth was piloting a Black Hawk helicopter over Iraq when insurgents targeted her aircraft, shooting it down, resulting in the loss of both of her legs.

Twelve years later—in 2016—Duckworth would be elected to represent the state of Illinois as a Democrat in the Senate.

Duckworth faced criticism last week after an interview with CNN's Dana Bash in which Duckworth said there should be a "national dialogue" about the glorification of founding fathers like George Washington who owned slaves.

Duckworth simply said that the existence of statues of these men should be publicly discussed at a national level, but many conservatives—like far-Right Fox News host Tucker Carlson—saw those words as reason enough to criticize her.

After claiming that "You're not supposed to criticize Tammy Duckworth in any way because she once served in the military," Carlson went on a diatribe against her that many thought hit below the belt.

Watch below.

Carlson said:

"Most people just ignore her. But when Duckworth does speak in public, you're reminded what a deeply silly and unimpressive person she is...It's long been considered out of bounds to question a person's patriotism. It's a very strong charge and we try not ever to make it. But in the face of all of this, the conclusion can't be avoided: these people actually hate America. There's no longer a question about that."

Duckworth didn't care for Carlson's claims that she hates the United States, and it wasn't long before she clapped back on Twitter.

Duckworth challenged Carlson to walk a mile in her prosthetic legs, which she uses intermittently with a wheelchair, before he questioned her patriotism.

People sided with Duckworth's courage over Carlson's cruelty.

Twitter users immediately began roasting Tucker Carlson.

Duckworth is currently a serious contender for Democratic nominee Joe Biden's vice presidential pick. Carlson—who called her "deeply unimpressive"—gets 40 percent of his ad revenue from the MyPillow company.

Trump Just Compared His Idea To Put ICE Agents In Airports To The Invention Of The Paper Clip—And, What?

Speaking to reporters about whose idea it was to deploy ICE agents to U.S. airports amid a partial government shutdown that has caused exceptionally long delays at TSA lines nationwide, President Donald Trump weirded people out when he compared the decision to the invention of the paper clip.

Samuel B. Fay patented the first bent-wire paper clip in 1867—about 159 years ago. The now-familiar “Gem” paper clip design commonly sold in office supply stores appeared around 1892, roughly 134 years ago, and was never patented in the United States.

A Trump Tweet From 2016 Is Going Viral For Perfectly Predicting What's Happening Right Now

There's always a tweet, and now one of President Donald Trump's old tweets has resurfaced and gone viral as Trump announced he would deploy ICE agents to U.S. airports amid a partial government shutdown that has caused exceptionally long delays at TSA lines nationwide.

ICE agents are still getting paid during the shutdown, unlike TSA agents, who are currently working unpaid and struggling amid the affordability crisis. News outlets have confirmed ICE agents have been deployed in airports that serve Democratic strongholds, particularly John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia Airports (New York), O'Hare International Airport (Chicago), and others.

Trump Just Threw Pete Hegseth Way Under The Bus For Pushing Him Into War With Iran

President Donald Trump threw Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth under the bus, claiming at a Memphis Safe Task Force roundtable in Tennessee that Hegseth was "the first one to speak up" about attacking Iran.

Hegseth has held press briefings at the Pentagon outlining U.S. military objectives in Iran, including efforts to eliminate the country’s ballistic missile program, drone production, and naval capabilities. During those appearances, he has also repeatedly criticized media outlets for reporting on opposition to the war.
