Comedians: when they're right, they're right!

So you may have heard that several Democrats were the targets of bombing attempts yesterday, even though the Democrats are not in power of literally anything right now. In addition, most of the people targeted aren't even in office anymore. Of course, seeking any kind of sense or order in 2018 America is a fool's errand, so we shouldn't be surprised.

Anyway, in case you somehow missed it, someone sent pipe bombs to Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, former Attorney General Eric Holder, former CIA Director John Brennan, former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Representative Maxine Waters, and George Soros (the billionaire financier who bankrolls all us "paid protestors). A pipe bomb was also sent to CNN's headquarters. And, this morning, they added to the list former Vice President Joe Biden and Robert DeNiro to the list?

I'm just wondering: is America great again?

Even better was President Trump taking the moral high road Wednesday night at his rally in Mosinee, Wisconsin, calling the attempted bombings "an attack on our democracy itself."

He added:

"There is one way to settle our disagreements, it's called peacefully, at the ballot box."

Those are extremely rich sentiments coming from him!

Comedian Matt Oswalt (younger brother of fellow comedian Patton Oswalt) decided to weigh in on what was happening, and gave us a more lighthearted sentiment:

Has anyone ever captured the many-tentacled crux of the thing so perfectly in one sentence? It's all right there-- the absurd false equivalency of being scolded to "be civil" when running Turtleneck McGillicuddy out of a restaurant; the ultimate futility of doing so in the first place; the creeping sense that our brightest and best leaders' are too out-of-touch to offer any real direction--this thing has layers, man.

This isn't the first time Matt has taken the internet by storm with perfectly executed political tweets. He's taken on everything from the Brett Kavanaugh affair to the scandal over Melania Trump's jacket, and everything in between.

But judging from the reactions on Twitter, this time he really nailed it--perhaps most especially our desperate collective need for a laugh in the midst of this absurd situation.

Matt Oswalt, on behalf of that violent, leftist marshmallow-hating mob, we salute you!

Lilly Wachowski Shares How She Had To 'Let Go' Of 'The Matrix' After It Was Twisted By Right-Wing Theories

Matrix co-creator Lilly Wachowski has opened up about what it's been like to see her magnum opus The Matrix be co-opted by the far-right.

Anywhere you go in online spaces for the past 10-15 years, right-wing weirdos talk about being "red-pilled," a reference to the film's plot point in which lead character Neo is offered a red pill that will enlighten him to the realities of the systems ruling our lives, or a blue pill that will allow him to stay ignorant.

'Franklin The Turtle' Publisher Condemns Pete Hegseth For Turning Beloved Character Into Violent Meme

Kids Can Press, the Canadian publisher behind the beloved Franklin children's books, condemned Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in a statement after he shared an AI-generated image of Franklin the Turtle to justify his attacks on alleged drug-smuggling vessels in the Caribbean.

Hegseth's original meme, which he inexplicably captioned "for your Christmas wish list," features a doctored book cover titled Franklin Targets Narco Terrorists and shows Franklin, the protagonist of the popular Canadian children's book series authored by Paulette Bourgeois and illustrated by Brenda Clark, firing a bazooka from a helicopter at boats in the water below.

Sabrina Carpenter Rips White House For Using Her Song In 'Evil And Disgusting' Pro-ICE Video

Pop star Sabrina Carpenter warned the White House not to use her music for their "inhumane" agenda after the executive branch posted a video of ICE raids that used her song "Juno" without her consent.

The video released by the White House repurposed a line from Carpenter’s viral “have you ever tried this one” lyric, turning the playful phrase into a backdrop for a montage of ICE agents pursuing, detaining, and handcuffing immigrants.
