Boebert Blasted For Using MLK Day To Call For An End To The 'Woke Movement In America'

The MAGA Rep. used her tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. to claim the civil rights icon's dream was about 'equality' not 'equity.'

Far-right Congresswoman Lauren Boebert recognized Martin Luther King Jr. Day by encouraging Americans to honor the late civil rights leader in bizarre fashion.

On MLK Day, the MAGA Representative, who is known for her extremist views and conspiracy theories, took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote:

"Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream that we would all be equal in America. Equity had no part of that dream."
"It was about equality."

She also called for an end to the "woke movement", a phrase about political awareness and inclusion that has been co-opted by many Republicans to criticize progressive policies they don't like or agree with.

Wrote Boebert:

"Let’s end the woke movement in America in honor of MLK Jr.”

Her call to action confused social media users since Boebert's rhetoric infringing on equality isn't exactly in line with King Jr.'s inspirational activism.

King was a Black church leader who was an advocate for human rights and helped advance civil rights for people of color through non-violent resistance. King, who received the Nobel Peace Prize for his activism, was assassinated in 1968.

In contrast, Boebert disregards public rules and undermines legislation meant to benefit marginalized people.

Last September, the gun-toting Congresswoman was forcibly ejected from a theater for disrupting the performance with her lewd conduct and violating camera rules.

In politics, she opposed the Equality Act and same-sex marriage, called vaccine mandates unconstitutional, and argued against mandatory face-mask guidelines during the pandemic.

The known conspiracy theorist also supported former Republican President Donald Trump's false claims of a stolen election that led to the U.S. Capitol attack on January 6, 2021.

In response to her message on MLK Day, users called Boebert out on her hypocrisy.

Boebert was slammed before on social media for her hypocrisy on the MLK Day holiday.

Last year in observance of the federal holiday, the MAGA Representative quoted the civil rights leader and wrote on X:

“‘The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.’―Dr. Martin Luther King Jr."
"On this day, we remember his incredible legacy and contributions to this great nation.”

And in the year before that in 2022, she wrote:

“Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His work to make this country a more perfect union lives on.”

Call us crazy but we're still unconvinced she has or will ever be on the same page as the great MLK.

Hillary Clinton Just Threw Some Epic Shade At Trump Over His Push To Print $250 Bills Featuring His Portrait

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton mocked President Donald Trump following a report he approved a proposed design featuring his portrait on a new $250 bill bearing his signature, despite longstanding federal law barring living people from appearing on U.S. currency.

According to four current and former Treasury Department employees who spoke to the Post anonymously out of fear of retaliation, two political appointees at the department—U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach and senior adviser Mike Brown—repeatedly pressed Bureau of Engraving and Printing staff beginning last year to develop prototype designs for the bill.
