When we think of an "I told you so" moment, we might think of a funny moment we shared with a sibling or partner, or even something that might have happened that was fairly inconsequential on a family-friendly sit-com.
But the truth of the matter is, when we insist that we know better, sometimes we find out in very serious ways... that we were wrong the entire time.

Mechanics Gone Wrong
"Working at a tire shop, a customer brought in a Land Rover Range Rover with air suspension for a set of tires."
"I watched the tire changers start to set their little scissor lift under the frame to pick it up and I went over and stopped them. I told them that they should take it down to the second drive-on rack and use the swing jacks under the axles or else they were going to blow out the suspension."
"The assistant manager overheard this and came out into the shop saying that, 'I just called Land Rover and they said that to turn off the air ride all you have to do is open the rear hatch and turn the hazard lights on. Just pick it up where it is and get on with it, the customer's waiting.'"

While we generally think of "told you so" moments as being something funny between friends or partners, "I told you so" moments can actually be pretty serious.
As these stories demonstrated, it could be something as mild as being locked out, all the way up to ruining a family relationship, ruining a job, or being arrested.
Sometimes it's worth listening to the advice of those around us, even if our pride tries to tell us that we know better.
