Trump Campaign Played 'Live And Let Die' Before His Recent Ohio Event And It's Painfully Appropriate
After the Trump campaign used "Live and Let Die," the only more appropriate song may have been Alanis Morisette's "Ironic."
President Donald Trump has done very little to show he cares about the well-being of his constituents—continuing to hold campaign rallies around the nation in the middle of a global pandemic which is killing an average of 1,000 Americans a day. He was served a heavy dose of irony by whoever designed the playlist for his rally at a Whirlpool plant in Clyde, Ohio.
Blasting through the speakers was the Guns N' Roses cover of the song "Live And Let Die" (originally penned for Paul McCartney And Wings for the James Bond film of the same name) which felt hauntingly appropriate to several onlookers.

The United States has seen over 160,000 deaths from the ongoing pandemic. The death toll is projected to get as high as 300,000 by December unless circumstances change drastically.
The White House has been lax at best in its attempts to control and curb the pandemic, and Trump himself said the death toll "is what it is" in the now-infamous Axios interview in late July.
Trump stated:
"They are dying, that's true, and you ha ... it is what it is. But that doesn't mean we aren't doing everything we can. It's under control as much as you can control it."

Adding to the drama, the Federal government has largely bungled its financial response to the pandemic, with Pandemic Unemployment Assistance allowed to expire and negotiations between parties collapsing while Trump attempted to bypass Congress with an executive order to garner sole credit.

"You used to say live and let live / You know you did...you know you did... you know you did / But if this ever changin' world / In which we live in / Makes you give in and cry / Say live and let die / Live and let die."
Those haunting lyrics seem to be reflecting the state of our society back at us.
Let's hope at some point the USA gets it together.
