Music Manager Reveals He Discouraged Colin Farrell From Being An Actor After Boy Band Audition
Celebrity Big Brother UK contestant and music manager Louis Walsh revealed he once told Colin Farrell he should not pursue acting.
Walsh created the Irish boy band Boyzone in 1993, and Farrell auditioned. It didn't go so well, however, as Walsh disclosed Farrell couldn't sing. But Farrell also had an itch to be an actor, one that Walsh believed he shouldn't scratch.
During Wednesday's episode of Celebrity Big Brother, Walsh talked about the interaction with other contestants.
“I’m good friends with, [do] you know Colin Farrell?”
“I know him very well because he auditioned for Boyzone and stuff, and he told me he wanted to be an actor.”
When the other contestants shared their surprise, Walsh continued:
“I knew him from Dublin."
“But he said to me, 'Oh, I want to be an actor anyway,’ he said to me when I said to him, 'You can’t sing, I can’t give you the gig.’”
He continued:
“I knew him really well."
“And he said, 'I want to be an actor anyway,’ and I said, 'You’re wasting your f**king time.’"
"He went and he worked. He worked it.”

Of course, only a few short years later, Farrell landed his first role at the age of 21, and by 2002, he became a household name after starring in Minority Report and Phone Booth.
Just last year, the actor nabbed a Golden Globe and an Oscar nod for his performance in The Banshees of Inisherin.
Needless to say, people on social media were quite entertained by Walsh's confession.
And some shared their relief that Farrell took the acting route.
A few, however, wouldn't mind seeing him in a boy band...
Walsh didn't just have tea on Farrell, either.
He and fellow Big Brother contestant Sharon Osbourne spilled about some other celebs, as well.
They first talked about James Corden and his habit of name dropping, with Osbourne remarking:
“I’ll tell you who does that. James Corden."
"He does that all the time. I go to him, ‘I really like your shoes,’ and he goes, ‘Yeah, Stella McCartney.’"
“I’m like, ‘I didn't ask you who made them, I just said I like your shoes. He constantly, constantly throws out names.”
Walsh chimed in:
“He always did."
Then when Osbourne noted that Corden "played the LA game really well," Walsh agreed, replying:
“Kissing all the right people.”
Osbourne then quipped:
“Oh god. Anna Wintour! Mwah, mwah, mwah, mwah, mwah.”
But then she added:
“Oh, she loves him. But who loves Anna Wintour? I think she’s a c-word.”
Walsh agreed and added to the list.
“Yeah, she is. And Ellen DeGeneres."
They also had a thing or two to say about their former X Factor boss Simon Cowell, with Osbourne vowing she wouldn't work for him again for “all the money in the world.”
Goodness! Sounds like a juicy season...
