On Tuesday, April 20, former police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty of the murder of George Floyd by a jury of his peers.
Shortly thereafter, many television personalities, including CNN's Don Lemon, expressed their relief that the former officer, who sparked last summer's protests by kneeling on Floyd's neck for over nine minutes, was going to face consequences for his actions.
His remarks on air were later shared on social media.
Conservative provocateur Ben Shapiro, who almost always manages to find the dumbest take on any particular issue, responded to Lemon's message with one of his own.
Shapiro posted:
"And we all know he would never have said this had the reverse verdict been reached"
Twitter was quick to point out Shapiro's stunning lack of logic, despite his supposed devotion to the "facts."
Shapiro seemed to think pointing out the obvious was, in this case, somehow profound?
Twitter immediately began dunking on the conservative "intellectual."
Shapiro's famous catchphrase even made some unfortunate appearances.
Maybe it's time Ben Shapiro took a little break from Twitter before he embarrasses himself again.
