Gretchen Carlson Blasts Fox News For Defending Tucker Carlson: 'This Is A Crock Of Sh*t'
Former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson has come out against current commentator Tucker Carlson—for spouting White supremacist talking points on air—and against her former place of work for defending him.
After the Anti-Defamation League asked Fox to drop Carlson from their rotation, CEO Lachlan Murdoch came to his defense, saying the network "abhors antisemitism, White supremacy and racism of any kind."
Former Fox employee Gretchen Carlson wasn't buying it.
Gretchen Carlson—who left Fox News in 2016 over sexual harassment by former CEO Roger Ailes—made plain she "hoped when [Fox] moved to take Roger Ailes out" that "Fox News might really change."
"Instead, Fox has just gotten worse."
Gretchen Carlson, despite being a former Fox host, has seen a radical shift in her public persona since leaving the company.
She is not shy about publicly lambasting the network and its hosts.
She posts many things across her social media the network places in the "radical left" category.
The incident in question Gretchen Carlson called out was Tucker Carlson's use of the "White replacement" theory on live TV—a thinly veiled White supremacist talking point.
The theory claims that somehow equal representation for people of color is going to do away with White people altogether.
Due to the rise in White supremacist terrorism across the country, the Anti-Defamation League called on Murdoch to take Tucker Carlson off the air.
Murdoch refused.
The capacity for Fox News to change is questionable.
After the January 6 Capitol Insurrection, the network did virtually nothing to change its rhetoric.
Perhaps karma will come for Tucker Carlson, since his employer will not.
