Trump Spouts Conspiracy Theory That Hillary Clinton's Deleted Emails 'Could Be' In Ukraine
News of his impending impeachment inquiry by the House of Representatives had President Donald Trump making some wilder than normal claims.
Yes, it can get stranger.
While speaking to reporters at the United Nations, a member of the press brought up a well that the GOP keeps going back to:
"But her emails!"
After the reporter asked what Trump thought of the idea of Hillary Clinton's "missing emails" possibly being "in the Ukraine," the President grasped that straw.
Trump said:
"I think they could be. They could very well be. Boy, I like that question!"
He then added:
"I think one of the greatest crimes committed by Hillary Clinton deleting 33,000 emails after Congress sends her a subpoena."
The order to delete the emails was made by a Clinton staffer happened months before the subpoena was sent. But the staffer tasked with the job failed to do it when first asked.
By contrast, the Trump administration has ignored repeated subpoenas from Congress.
People were not buying what the President was selling. Especially since this particular conspiracy theory has been debunked many times.
People had questions about the President's health.
Buckle up, folks. It's going to be a bumpy ride.
