The clip was accompanied by a creepy rendition of a traditional lullaby and it revealed that AHS alum Emma Roberts–who appeared in five seasons starting with season 3's Coven through season 9's 1984–will be joining Kardashian.
The new season is titled Delicate.
Kardashian captioned her cryptic announcement with wide-eyes and blood-drop emojis.
A representative of AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy told Variety that Kardashian's role was created specifically for her.
The two are friends and have been talking about developing a character for the social media celebrity in her scripted TV debut in AHS.
Murphy was interested in working with her ever since he was impressed by her well-received Saturday Night Live hosting duties in 2021.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Murphy enthused:
“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family."
Halley Feiffer–who wrote episodes for American Horror Story and American Crime Story–will pen all of the episodes for Delicate and serve as its showrunner.
Murphy added:
“Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture."
"Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”
The founder of SKIMS shapewear, KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrance made frequent TV appearances on a number of E! reality TV shows, including Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Kourtney and Kim Take New York, and most recently on Hulu's The Kardashians.
She made cameos as herself on shows like How I Met Your Mother and 30 Rock, but acting is a fairly new endeavor for the affluent socialite.
In 2008, she appeared in the comedy parody film Disaster Movie and had a number of TV stints as a character on shows like CSI: NY in 2009 and four episodes of Drop Dead Diva in 2012.
AHS, Delicate would mark her return to acting after over a decade.
Fans of Kardashian are excited for her and are chomping at the bit for the new season of AHS.
Others who are skeptical of her acting chops aren't expecting much from the reality TV star.
The rest planned on skipping the new season.
Like with most AHS new season announcements, not much is known about the 12th season and what Kardashian's role will be.
However, this will be the first time AHS will be based on a season inspired by new source material.

"Out in August from Sourcebooks Landmark, the novel is described as a gripping thriller about a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens."
Author Andrea Bartz described Valentine's new novel as “the feminist update to Rosemary’s Baby we all needed.”
