Jamie Foxx has remained quite mum on his mysterious illness that landed him in the hospital in April of 2023, but new video posted to X, formerly Twitter, shows the actor opening up to a small group of fans in Arizona about what happened.
Last year, Foxx was in the hospital for an extended period, and though general updates and brief interactions had been shared by family and friends, Foxx himself did not address his health until July of 2023, when he shared a video update to Instagram.
Even then, however, he didn't reveal the reason behind his hospitalization, only:
“I went through something that I thought I would never go through.”
He also added that he didn't update fans because he didn't want them to see him in his condition at that time.
“To be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that, man."
“I wanted you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, a television show.”
"I didn't want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”
During this recent interaction with fans in Arizona, however, Foxx shed a little more light on the subject, telling a small group of people that he had a bad headache and asked his friend for an Advil.
He then snapped his fingers and stated:
“I was gone for 20 days."
"I don't remember anything."
Foxx added that his daughter and sister took him to two doctors.
"[The second] doctor said, ‘Something going on up there.'"
“I won’t say it on camera."
While Foxx still didn't disclose the exact cause of his hospitalization, people continued with their assumptions.
Others, however, were just happy to see him in a much better condition.
